The story hook is compelling so players will be motivated to play until completion. Not sure why there is so much hate toward this campaign book. As a DM, my group of somewhat new players has loved running this campaign and we just started the second book, Rise of Tiamat.
The book itself is well made, has fantastic visuals, and is presented well. At first, I was going to write words of praise to WotC for this product, but then I remembered that WotC was more the publisher of it. The real credit for this book goes out to Kobold Press. This up-and-coming company has hit a home run with its writing and it is no wonder they were the ones WotC had writing for them.
KP really nailed a great module. The story is simple, and the adventure is packed full of action. Co-author Vincent Mallardi is a prolific writer of hundreds of business-related books amd articles.
