All students are required to complete, within the first 60 credit hours of their programs: a minimum of one three-credit hour course with significant content in written English and a minimum of one three-credit hour course with significant content in mathematics.

Classes begin at a. Holidays follow the public school schedule too, with the exception that our students have classes until the end of July. Classes are small. Those who start the program at the same time, usually stay together for most classes throughout the four years. Students take the same courses that are offered on the main campus, but in a different order and with additional supports and preparation. In Year 3 and 4, students may opt to take some classes at the Fort Garry campus.

We offer tutorial support when needed, encourage student study groups, and provide counselling, when students feel overwhelmed. Depending on demand, intake may occur yearly or every other year. The ICSWP offers additional supports to students to prepare for university studies and to enhance success.

These include writing courses, tutoring, academic advising and personal counselling. The ICSWP, part-time program is looking for students who are ready for both the academics and the stresses of university, while working, and who will be suitable social workers. If you did not finish Grade 12, or have been out of school for a while, upgrading is recommended before you apply.
